Hvordan bruger man cernit modellervoks?
Når du køber modellervoksen, kommer det i små, hårde og firkantede pakker. Før du kan begynde at forme leret, skal det varmes op. Cernit modellervoks er meget hårdt, når du pakker det ud, og det kræver et par minutters ælten, før det opnår en blødhed, der gør, at du kan forme det.
Vær opmærksom på, at leret vil fortsætte med at blive mere og mere blødt, mens du arbejder med det, så det kan være nødvendigt at køle leret ned, inden du arbejder videre. Det kan gøres på flere måder:
- Skyl hænderne under den kolde hane, og arbejd derefter videre
- Læg leret i køleskabet lidt tid, til det bliver hårdt igen
- Læg leret i fryseren, hvis der går længere tid, inden du skal arbejde med det igen.
Når du har kølet leret ned, kan du arbejde videre med det ligesom før. Det vil ikke tage skade af kulden, du skal dog passe på med de høje temperaturer, da det kan skade leret og gøre det svært at arbejde med.
Hvordan hærder man cernit?
Når du er færdig med at forme cernitten, skal den hærdes, for at dine figurer kan holde formen. Det foregår i en helt almindelig ovn:
- Opvarm ovnen til 100-130 grader (100 for varmluft)
- Stil dine figurer ind
- Lad dem bage i 15-30 minutter alt efter størrelse
- Lad dem køle af
- Tjek, om de er helt hårde, når de er kølet helt ned
- Er de stadig bløde, så gentag processen.
Inden du stiller dine figurer i ovnen, kan det være en fordel at støtte høje figurer op ved at bygge dem op omkring en pind, så de ikke falder sammen. Du kan også sørge for at støtte tynde dele med pinde, så de ikke knækker.
Hvad skal du ellers vide om cernit modellervoks?
Cernit minder rigtig meget om FIMO ler, både af udseende og følelse. Dog vil cernit modellervoks få en glattere og mere skinnende overflade, når det bliver bagt, hvor FIMO holder det matte look.
Ydermere vil FIMO kræve lidt mere arbejde for at opnå en blødhed, der gør det muligt at forme det, men vil på den anden side ikke fortsætte med at blive blødere som cernit. Andre ting, der er gode at vide:
- Når du bager cernit i ovnen vil det lugte.
- Laver du knapper i materialet, kan de tåle både vaskemaskine og tørretumbler, men IKKE en tur på renseri.
Der er stort set uendelige muligheder for at have det sjovt med cernit modellervoks, så slå dig løs, og lad fantasien folde sig ud!
